The Dillon Aero Bullet Trap (DBT500) is an external safety device intended for use during gun maintenance, hot-gun clearing, or anytime the weapon may be armed, but not in use. Designed specifically to fit the flash suppressor of the M134D, the DBT500 is a compact bullet stop using Concept Development Corporation’s patented Ballistic Media System.
This Ballistic Media System has been independently tested by the US Department of Energy, the FBI, and Sandia Laboratories, and has proven effective in stopping armor-piercing projectiles fired at contact distances from 5.56mm, 7.62mm and .50 BMG weapons. The ballistic media – contained in the body of the bullet trap by a self-sealing rubber "plug" – literally shreds the projectile, disintegrating it upon impact. Our testing of the DBT500 included firing seven rounds into the trap with complete containment and no ill effects.
The DBT500 is quick and easy to use, and provides the maximum level of safety for maintenance personnel, vehicle crew, or air crew personnel. While only just entering service, the DBT500 is rapidly gaining acceptance within the US Armed Forces and allies worldwide.
