TRAINING

Dillon Aero offers a variety of training courses composed of classroom & practical instruction. These 3 or 5 day courses establish a strong foundation of knowledge as well as hands on practical experience with the M134D system.

3 DAY TRAINING COURSE

This three-day course is designed to provide a basic understanding of the M134D System. This course is ideal for those who need a basic understanding of the Minigun but won’t operate it directly, as well as for experienced users seeking a refresher.

The training includes two days of classroom instruction and one day of live-fire exercises, combining detailed explanations, demonstrations, and hands-on practical exercises. Dillon Aero provides all necessary equipment, including live weapons, specialized tools, training aids, fixtures, and both inert and live ammunition.

Upon completion, participants will be trained in the safe operation and intermediate-level maintenance of the M134D Minigun, in accordance with Dillon Aero’s published manuals and guides.

Class size is limited to 4 participants to ensure personalized instruction and high-quality training

5 DAY TRAINING COURSE

This five-day course is designed to provide in-depth instruction on the operation and maintenance of the M134D System. This course goes beyond basic weapon familiarization, ensuring participants develop a thorough understanding and practical proficiency.

Students receive extensive hands-on training with the M134D System under the direct supervision of Dillon Aero instructors. Each participant is guided through practical exercises until they demonstrate full competency.

The course includes four days of classroom instruction, and one day of live-fire exercises, featuring detailed explanations, demonstrations, and hands-on practical exercises. Dillon Aero provides all necessary equipment, including live weapons, specialized tools, training aids, fixtures, and both inert and live ammunition.

Upon completion of the course, students will have the skills to safely operate the weapon system and perform operator- and intermediate-level maintenance in accordance with Dillon Aero’s manuals and guides.

Class sizes are capped at 6 participants to ensure personalized instruction and high-quality training

Forward Arming and Refueling Point (FARP) Course

This FARP course is designed to train participants in rotary-wing Forward Arming and Refueling Point (FARP) operations, focusing on safety standards and practices. Throughout the course, students will plan and execute live-fire support exercises from a designated rotary-wing platform. By the end of the course, participants will have developed proficiency in basic FARP procedures and gained foundational knowledge of fixed forward gunnery techniques.

Training takes place at the Dillon Range Facility, an ideal environment for fast-paced, sustained live-fire operations that simulate real-world mission scenarios. Dillon Aero provides all necessary resources, including aircraft, fuel, live weapons, ammunition, ordnance, and targets. Customers may also use their own aircraft for training.

Prerequisites: This course is open to U.S. personnel who have either completed a Dillon Aero M134D course or possess prior operator experience and current proficiency with the M134D system.
